Joy received a degree in Fine Art from Hillsdale College where she first discovered her love for drawing, painting, and sculpting from observation combined with the influence of studying the masters.

Art possesses the special ability to bring to light all that is precious and valuable in life. There is such beauty in the mundane that we pass by in our busy lives. Joy Fine Art aims to capture visual meditations on the spectacular daily life that surrounds us.

My work is my giving of thanks because life is so full of wonderous goodness. I want to be lovingly attentive to it, to study it, admire it, and perhaps capture even just a fraction of this goodness. The process of drawing, painting, and sculpting teaches me to see how precious a simple beam of light is, to delight in the redness of a radish or the shape of a spoon or the warmth in a shadow. My work is my giving of thanks because my words fall short and my actions are fleeting and yet I long to offer up something in return for all I have received.
